本研究系统讨论了英-汉双语者认知加工过程中体现的编码特异性和语言依赖性，特别关注不同语言类型（如拼音文字和语素文字）对双语者记忆时信息编码和提取的影响。基于认知语言学和心理语言学的交叉视角，本研究构建了分层编码特异性理论模型，有助于阐明在宏观、中、微观三个维度，语言风格对于双语认知策略选择时的约束作用。对于跨语言认知加工过程，本研究发现汉语偏向于视觉-形态编码机制，英语则更倾向于语音-音位编码机制。考虑到传统的编码特异性理论在解释双语认知现象时受到理论约束，本研究创新性地提出了“语言约束编码特异性”概念，强调了语言系统结构特征对编码过程的约束性。本研究的结果对双语教育领域和人工智能具有重要意义，未来的研究可以使用神经科学方法详细研究语言转换机制中不同编码系统的反馈机制，并系统地研究语言习得关键期如何对语言依赖性的形成产生影响。
