In the context of the new era, traditional teaching methods have become too outdated and cannot meet the developmental needs of students. The ESA teaching mode is more in line with students' interests and hobbies, and can steadily improve the efficiency and quality of maritime English reading teaching. Therefore, teachers need to change their teaching philosophy, continuously optimize and improve their educational and teaching models, innovate their teaching ideas, fully integrate the ESA teaching model into the teaching process, effectively cultivate students' subject abilities and reading literacy, and contribute to the achievement of educational and teaching goals. This article combines the current situation of maritime English reading teaching and proposes specific strategies for the application of ESA teaching mode, contributing to the cultivation of students' English reading ability and thinking.
