文章摘要
The International Commission on Irrigation and Drainage (ICID) conferred World Heritage Irrigation Structure status upon theLongshou canal and ancient Luohe river irrigation district in 2020.Situated within Shaanxi Province's eastern Guanzhong Plain, this hydraulic infrastructure was initiated during Emperor Wu's reign of the Han Dynasty. Progressively enhanced through dynastic hydro-engineering innovations, the system served as critical infrastructure sustaining regional socio-ecological resilience for over two millennia. Its pioneering method of wells and canals was spread and became the predecessor of Xinjiang's qaner wells, which has important scientific and technological value and is typical in the world. In order to further explore the wisdom of sustainable development contained therein, this study, on the basis of systematically sorting out the historical changes of Longshou Diluo Ancient Irrigation District, excavates the cultural heritage value contained in this project and further proposes protection and utilisation suggestions in combination with the actual development of the region, so as to provide reference for the development of agriculture in arid and semi-arid regions.
