As an important expression of musical art, vocal music works contain rich ethnic elements. This paper deeply discusses the exploration and inheritance of ethnic elements in vocal music works, analyzes the expression of ethnic elements in vocal music works in detail, such as ethnic language, folk music material and ethnic culture connotation, expounds the significance of inheriting ethnic elements for the development of vocal music art by studying the effective ways to explore ethnic elements, puts forward a series of strategies and methods for inheriting ethnic elements and aims at promoting the continuous innovation and development of vocal music art nourished by ethnic culture and promoting the inheritance and promotion of ethnic culture.
