This paper reviews the complex mechanisms of subtle dynamic control in piano performance,focusing particularly on the role of touch pressure in shaping tone color.Traditional research predominantly highlighted mechanical aspects such as hammer velocity and finger strength,but contemporary studies emphasize the nuanced interactions between touch pressure and tonal variation.By synthesizing perspectives from biomechanics,cognitive psychology,and advancements in music technology,this review examines how pianists modulate pressure to achieve a wide range of dynamic expressions.It discusses the broader implications for performance practice and piano pedagogy,suggesting future directions for research in both cognitive and biomechanical aspects of piano playing.
