文章摘要
Previous studies have suggested a dual pathway to creativity model. In this model, creativity could be predicted by both cognitive factors (i.e., cognitive flexibility) and personality traits (i.e., perseverance). However, whether grit, as generally accepted as perseverance and passion for long-term goals, influences creativity has not reached a consensus. The current study aims to reveal the mechanism of how grit influences the relationship between cognitive flexibility and creativity. Based on a sample of 217 undergraduate students, the results of the current study showed that: 1) cognitive flexibility had a significant positive impact on creativity; 2) grit significantly moderated the relationship between cognitive flexibility and creativity, but only in the group with lower levels of grit; 3) grit had a substitutional relationship with cognitive flexibility.
