Documentary subtitle translation plays an important role in cultural communication.This study takes the second season of A Bite of China as a case study to explore the subtitle translation strategies of documentaries from the perspective of eco-translatology. It is found that language dimension transformation needs a balance between simplifying language and preserving information. Cultural dimension transfer conveys cultural connotation through the combination of transliteration, literal translation and annotation. The change of communicative dimension requires flexible adjustment of expression according to the context and the needs of the audience. This study not only provides scientific theoretical support for documentary subtitle translation, but also provides a beneficial exploration for the application and development of ecological transliteration in the field of cross-cultural communication.
