This thesis mainly discusses application of Production-oriented approach (POA) in English writing in junior high school. Firstly, it introduces the theoretical system and related researches on POA at home and abroad to solve the current problems of English writing. In addition, combined with the Oxford English Year 8 textbook of the Yilin edition, it uses three phases of POA—— motivating, enabling and assessing to teach writing and studies the application and effect of POA. Finally, it concludes that POA not only improves students’ ability but also motivates their writing interest.
