This paper focuses on the professional basic course "Metal Materials and Heat Treatment" in vocational undergraduate education. It analyzes the practical problems existing in this course from three aspects: industry standards, job requirements, and professional qualities. Based on the actual needs of the job positions, strategies to enhance the practicality of the course are proposed to improve the quality of vocational undergraduate talent cultivation, meet the needs of industry development, and provide high-quality applied talents for the fields related to metal material selection, processing, and quality control.
