In high school, English reading teaching plays an important role in improving the overall quality of English education and promoting the growth and development of students. Group text reading, as an emerging breakthrough reading teaching model in recent years, relies on the integration of multiple texts to cultivate students’ comprehensive language application abilities and critical thinking skills. It attains remarkable progress in both the breadth and depth of English reading teaching, thereby effectively enhancing the quality of English teaching. However, some high school English teachers still encounter some challenges when conducting group text reading teaching. Against this backdrop, the introduction of the question chain teaching method provides professional instructional guidance for teachers to carry out group text reading teaching. Specifically, teachers can carefully design and construct a chain of questions based on group text reading materials, deepen students’ perception and understanding of the texts, and thus effectively promote the development of high school English group text reading teaching towards more efficient and higher quality.
