Reading and writing are interrelated and mutually reinforcing. Multi-dimensionally related reading-writing teaching activities are conducive to improving students’ reading and writing ability and promoting the development of students’ thinking quality. The current reading and writing teaching has the phenomenon of fragmentation and failure of integration. Therefore, based on relevant theory of reading-writing connection and illustrated with specific teaching cases, this paper delves into three aspects to elaborate the teaching strategy of high school English reading-writing combination from the perspective of connection. They are discovering the connection point between reading and writing by intensive reading of the discourse; designing multi-dimensional progressive tasks to establish the connection point of reading and writing; and reflecting on the effect of reading-writing connection based on the evaluation form.
