A Teaching Practice on High School English Writing Based on the Process Writing Approach

Writing serves as a crucial pathway for cultivating students’ core English competencies and holds significant weight in the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao). The continuation task, now included in the National Matriculation English Test (NMEET), presents significant challenges for both teachers and students. The process writing approach, which focuses on the developmental stages of writing, not only enhances writing skills but also fosters creative thinking, collaborative abilities, and writing confidence. This paper explores the application of the process writing approach in teaching continuation tasks at the senior high school level, with the aim of improving students’ English writing proficiency and fostering their overall core competencies development.
