This study explores the mechanism of synergistic development between Gen-AI and higher education based on symbiosis theory. By analyzing the role of Gen-AI as a new quality productivity in the transformation of education, a three-dimensional theoretical framework containing symbiotic units, symbiotic environments and symbiotic models is constructed. The study identifies four major challenges: the risk of path dependency for learning subjects, the digital literacy gap for educators, the resource allocation dilemma for educational administrators, and data privacy and ethical issues. The study proposes a three-stage development path: constructing a cooperation mechanism through rational gaming between subjects, optimizing resource allocation based on technology sharing, and establishing an ethical governance framework to ensure data security. The study shows that the above paths can realize the reconstruction of the educational ecosystem, promote the deep inter-embedding of intelligent technology and educational practice, and provide an innovative paradigm for the digital transformation of higher education.
