In the context of the current New English Curriculum Standards, language ability has become an important criterion to measure students’ English proficiency. Writing, as an important part of language ability, reflects students' comprehensive proficiency. Feedback plays an important role in improving students' writing skills, it allows teachers to fully understand the students' English writing situation and level, and also allows students to recognize the problems in their own writing. Therefore, as a part of the teaching process, feedback is crucial to the progress and improvement of teachers and students. However, due to practical problems in English teaching, feedback often does not work as well as it should. Therefore, this study analyzes the problems existing in English writing feedback in senior high schools based on literature and practice, and proposes measures to optimize feedback of English writing, aiming to help English teachers fully understand the importance of feedback and improve students' writing ability.
