With the advent of the new media era and the continuous advancement of information-based teaching reform in the network environment, how to change traditional teaching methods, create a new teaching structure, coordinate the relationship between traditional teaching and new teaching, improve teaching efficiency, and construct an efficient English classroom has become the issue that educators needs to think about. In addition, due to the elements of new media and the intervention of artificial intelligence in middle school English classroom teaching, the possible changes and challenges are also worthy of further discussion and attention. This paper focuses on the advantages of information-based teaching in the context of new media,the problems in practice,the strategies to deal with future challenges and the development prospects of information-based teaching in the new media era.
