In recent years, the application of multi-modal theory in teaching is the focus of the current academic research due to the educational informatization, but the research on English listening and speaking teaching from the multi-modal perspective is relatively limited. Based on constructive learning theory and multi-modal discourse analysis theory, this paper combines multi-modality in digital world and English listening as well as speaking to construct a multi-modal English listening and speaking teaching mode in senior high school. This paper indicates that the use of this multi-modal teaching mode has a significantly positive effect on English listening and speaking, which can also be combined with multimedia information technologies to play a role both in and out of class. This study enriches the research of multi-modal theory in English listening and speaking, provides suggestions for teachers, and also offers some reference for subsequent researchers, with theoretical and practical significance.
