Objective: To analyze the actual teaching effect of multidisciplinary collaborative diagnosis and treatment (MDT) model combined with problem-led teaching (PBL) method in clinical teaching of colorectal cancer. METHODS: Sixty-two clinical medical students (62) who were admitted to the Department of Medicine during December 2022~December 2024 were included in the study, and were grouped by the difference of admission time; the control group (31, admitted to the Department of Medicine during December 2022~November 2023) received the traditional didactic teaching (LBL), and the observation group (31, admitted to the Department of Medicine during December 2023~December 2024) received MDT combined PBL teaching. The differences in clinical basic knowledge of colorectal cancer, case diagnosis and treatment analysis scores as well as teaching satisfaction and teaching quality evaluation were compared between the two groups. RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the clinical basic knowledge, case diagnosis and treatment analysis assessment scores and teaching satisfaction, teaching evaluation of the observation group were elevated, and the difference was statistically significant, P < 0.05.CONCLUSION: The joint application of MDT mode and PBL teaching method in the clinical teaching of colorectal cancer in the Department of Surgery of Oncology has a positive impact on the enhancement of the teaching effect of the basic knowledge of the clinic, case diagnosis and treatment skills, and it can enhance the effectiveness of the teaching behavior and teaching satisfaction feeling.
