The main purpose of this paper is to explore and analyze in detail how to effectively cultivate and improve students'mathematical thinking ability in the higher education stage,especially in the process of university mathematics teaching.By comprehensively using the methods of literature review and practical teaching practice,this paper will propose a series of innovative teaching methods and strategies.These methods and strategies are designed to help students not only to master the necessary mathematical knowledge and theories,but also to cultivate and exercise their ability of mathematical thinking.Through such teaching reform,we expect students to apply their mathematical knowledge and skills to solving practical problems,so as to show stronger problem-solving ability in practical work and life.
