In the context of building a strong sports nation, China attaches great importance to the development of students' physical fitness and physical function, which is the material basis for ensuring their comprehensive development. Teamwork awareness is an essential spirit for students. By cultivating students' teamwork awareness, it can promote the smooth development of sports activities and also advance the development of physical education in China. In order to promote the formation and development of students' teamwork awareness, university teachers have also adjusted and optimized their teaching methods, such as strengthening the application of collaborative teaching methods, and have achieved significant results. Therefore, this article takes Hainan Vocational and Technical University as an example to discuss the promotion of students' teamwork awareness through collaborative teaching methods in physical education teaching, and analyzes the significance of cultivating students' teamwork awareness, hoping to provide some reference value for university physical education teachers.
