文章摘要
This essay aims to investigate and identify the distinct pronunciation features of overseas Mainland Chinese students in North America and to explore if the English they speak reflects any features of North American English pronunciation in consideration of the potential confusion caused by the influence of their first language. This essay analyses their accent, the way they pronounce certain monophthongs, the discontinuity occurred in their speech, and the stress pattern.
