学校在青少年发展中发挥重要角色，本研究以“中国教育追踪调查”2014-2015年的追踪调查数据与2013-2014年的基线数据为基础，探究了学校选择青少年发展状况的影响。研究发现学校选择类型会影响到青少年的认知能力发展。无论是对青少年的学业考试成绩还是认知能力测试得分，选择优质学校均会有显著的正向影响作用。本研究表明优质学校对青少年认知能力发展发挥重要作用。
