在21世纪，肿瘤疾病已成为一个社会、经济、公共卫生的重大问题。据国际癌症研究机构IARC最新数据统计显示，大约有五分之一的男性或女性在一生中会患有癌症[1]，癌症以其逐渐增长的发病率、年轻化趋势造成不可估量的“癌症负担”。随着诊疗技术的不断进步，靶向、免疫等治疗方法持续更新，新的靶点、生物标志物层出不穷，在其中筛选出具有潜力和新意的目标是十分必要的。APLN基因参与调节能量代谢、体液平衡、维持血管更新稳态，是在细胞代谢活动中十分活跃的一个基因。研究表明APLN基因及其受体APJ的表达与肿瘤的发生发展关系密切，它在肝细胞癌、非小细胞肺癌、食管癌、胶质母细胞瘤等众多癌种中广泛高表达。本文对APLN基因的发现、生理作用、对于肿瘤的不同方面的促进作用都作了详细论述，简述并展望了其作为潜在靶点在目前部分癌种中的治疗效果，为后续研究APLN基因提供总结与参考。
